Elwood Celebrates Homecoming

A parade, festivities and football game kicked off the start of football season.

Students, faculty and the greater Elwood community gathered together Sept. 28 to showcase their school spirit during Elwood-John H. Glenn High School’s annual homecoming parade and football game.

The day's festivities began with a parade from James H. Boyd Intermediate School to the high school.

Fire departments, members of the marching band and cheerleading squad, and colorful floats – each with a different Disney theme – made their way down Cuba Hill Road as onlookers cheered and took photos. The homecoming queen and king, seniors Amanda Jaguden and Giro Dilillo, waved to onlookers along the parade route.

Following the parade, the John Glenn Knights took on the East Hampton Bonackers. The Knights dominated the entire game and finished with a triumphant 42-6 win. An impressive crowd, adorned in the school’s colors of royal blue and black, supported the team throughout the entire game, while a special halftime show featuring the high school’s marching band, kickline and cheerleading squad showcased the tremendous talent of John Glenn’s students.
