3RD GRADE BOYS-BLUE

3RD GRADE BOYS-GOLD

Coach: Steve Desoussa

Last Game: Northport 6 – Massapequa 9

Highlight: Northport
took a tough loss against Massapequa on Sunday. The Tigers endured an onslaught of offense from a tough Massapequa squad. The tigers fought back with Bruce Peden and Tristan Triolo scoring two goals each. A solid check by Bryce Kuehn forced a turnover. A shot on goal which was saved and bounced out of the crease allowed Liam McKenna to flick the ball in for his first goal of the season.  Connor Gallagher held off more shots by the powerful Massapequa offense.  A forced turnover by Max Kahane, some solid passes by TJ McCallan and Matthew Cruise and a goal by Jack Viscuso still wasn’t enough as time expired.

Northport 8 – Rockville Centre 6

Highlight: Northport had an action packed game against Rockville Center. Northport started strong with Max Kahane forcing a turnover which led to a Northport goal. After a run up the sideline, an assist by Matthew Cruise for another goal giving Northport an early lead. RVC never let up though. 
Goalie Connor Gallagher had 4 saves. Great defense by Ryan DeSousa, clearing the ball, and Jake Paustian and TJ McCallan forcing turnovers leading to scores.  Tristan Triolo was on fire with 4 goals, Jack Viscuso came on strong scoring two goals, Bruce Peden and Ryan Hutton each with a goal.

Highlight: The battle of the undefeteds was a wild one on the South Shore with a depleated Tigers roster pulling off a stunning comeback with a minute to go in regulation....The Tigers began hot, running out to a 3-0 lead to start the game before giving up 7 straight goals in less than 10 minutes. From there it was a hard fought climb back led by Liam Caulfield in goal, Max Napoli and Kyle Kelly in the open field at middie and players at the bookends providing key defensive (Mike Chapman) and offensive (Henry Miller and Brian Jeffery) support. As the home crowd fell silent, the Tigers completed their comeback with 1:11 to play in regulation when Tanner Lindvall found the back of the net and the TEAM, the mountaintop, winning 10-9.
