Northport Police Report: DWI Arrest; Dog in Car: Police responded to the report of a dog in distress in a locked car on Main Street June 1 around 5 p.m. Upon arrival, police determined that the dog was not in any danger as the windows were rolled down. Five minutes later, police responded to the scene again after another report and saw several people attempting to break into the car to "save" the dog.

Bill Criminalizing Sale of Synthetic Drugs Passes in State Senate: The New York State Senate recently passed a bill sponsored by Sen. John Flanagan, R-East Northport, to criminalize the sale and possession of synthetic marijuana and "bath salts."
