Both sides showed up with reinforements Tuesday as the CHW approached the Northport Village Board once again requesting permits to hold a second Wounded Warriors Weekend Sept. 7-9. The board denied them once again on legal grounds after receiving notification that afternoon that the CHW would be required to obtain a Suffolk County fundraising permit.

Northport American Representative Legion John Cooney and Past Commander Michael Suchocki spoke in defense of the legion's position to have additional monies stay local. Cooney pushed for the CHW to present their financial documents to his organization.
