Many Merrymakers Attend Tree and Menorah Lighting in East Northport

More than 150 residents of all ages gathered for event sponsored by the East Northport Chamber of Commerce at the train station's Clock Tower Park.

Despite the bitter cold, more than 150 residents of all ages gathered in Clock Tower Park just east of the train stationfor the annual Christmas tree and menorah lighting sponsored by the East Northport Chamber of Commerce.

Guests enjoyed hot chocolate and children from sang holiday songs.  Seven candles were illuminated on the oversized menorah, in commemoration of the seventh night of the Jewish holiday of Chanukah.

For the children, the highlight of the evening seemed to be when Santa made his grand entrance on a lighted truck, and distributed candy canes.
