Sunken Meadow Extends Hours

Beat the heat. Take advantage of government agencies mobilizing to help you cool down in Northport and Kings Park.  

, Jones Beach and Hither Hills State Parks have extended hours and will remain open until 8:30 p.m., according to Assemb. , R-East Northport.

Gov. Cuomo also announced that the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will begin extended hours Friday through Saturday evening.

Raia is encouraging residents to take advantage of extended hours at local parks and swimming facilities.

“This weather should not be taken lightly,” Raia said. “Residents need to stay inside or take advantage of the extended hours at our local parks and beaches. I cannot think of a better place to be on a scorching hot summer day than one of our Long Island beaches or parks.”
