Voter turnout was low at local polling stations on Tuesday in what many considered a dead primary.

Mitt Romney was the victor in Tuesday's Republican Primary, taking 62.4 percent of New York's vote.

The lack of suspense in what many considered to be a dead primary was evident at polling locations such as in East Northport, where turnout could be described as a "slow trickle" at best.

Out of 348 registered voters in the disrict, only 23 had voted with an hour and a half left until closing. "There are other states where they just can't wait to have this," said an election official at the Pulaski Elementary polling station, "here in New York I guess we don't appreciate it."
