Photo: Northport Gets Its Own Rescue Truck

Truck would assist with lowland evacuations in case of flooding.

A free government surplus truck to be used for rescues and evacuations in flooded areas was delivered to Northport Village on Friday. With the new truck, the village will no longer need to borrow the Town of Huntington's rescue truck, which will now be freed up for other uses. The truck also has a higher air intake snorkle, which means it can venture into deeper water.
