Huntington Chamber event will feature business discussion with LIBN reporter David Winzelberg.

Huntington Chamber Networking Breakfast

The Huntington Chamber’s 2012 March Networking Breakfast on Tuesday will feature a business program with Long Island Business News reporter David Winzelberg.  Previously with The New York Times for more than 20 years, David has worked with LI Business News covering business, real estate and general news on Long Island.

In addition to David Winzelberg, opening remarks will be provided by Suffolk County Legislator William Spencer, D-Huntington. The discussion will provide a information about the business climate on Long Island and throughout Suffolk County. The breakfast will be held at Huntington Yacht Club, at 95 East Shore Road in Huntington, from 7:30 to 10 a.m.

Comedy Show Fundraiser

The Huntington Chamber of Commerce will host a fundraiser at on Thursday featuring Rich Walker (voted Long Island's favorite comedian for the second time), Maria Walsh (America's Naughtiest Mommy) and Erik Rivera (national headliner of The Tonight Show and Gotham Comedy Club fame). The show starts at 8 p.m.; doors open at 7 p.m. A suggested donation of $20 will secure a ticket. 'Parents as Reading Partners'

The Sunquam Elementary School in Dix Hills held its annual "Parents as Reading Partners" (PARP) Community Reader Event with a theme of "Reading Takes Your Places."

Councilwoman Susan A. Berland read several of her childhood books to Mrs. Gaba's kindergarten class. "I applaud Sunquam Elementary School for instilling the tremendous value of reading to their young students," she said.

Town Seeks Employers for October Job Fair

The Town of Huntington in conjunction with the Melville Chamber of Commerce will host a job fair in October. All businesses with positions are encouraged to contact the organizers at 631-351-3317.
