How To: Report a Found Pet

Patch reports on ways to get things done around Huntington.

Did a puppy follow you home? Here's how you can help it get back to its owner.

Take the pet to Animal Control at 106 Deposit Rd., East Northport, or call 631-754-8722 to have it picked up. Once at the shelter town workers will scan for a microchip, which may provide information about the owner, including a phone number and address.

The pet will be held for seven days in hopes of finding an owner.  Once the holding period is up, it is evaluated to determine eligibility for adoption.

See the Town Code on pets and animals.

I received this mail from HomeAgain about a lost dog. If it's him, he's microchipped. Go to thisRead More page: http://foundpets.homeagain.com/PetRescuers/lost-pet-profile.aspx?MicrochipId=4822327943
