"The Town's Handicapped Parking Enforcement Program discourages the abuse of parking spaces designated for the handicapped, according to the Town." Exactly how do they do that? Do they write summonses? Do they have legal authority to do so? Just asking...

Volunteers check lots, photograph cars that are not complying and violators are then issued tickets.

As volunteers, they are authorized to write summonses enforceable by law? I smell a legal challenge down the line.

. Spot on N'prtr. Since when do we deputize people? I hear you Pam, they are just taking a photo, but they choose whose photo to take and submit. That makes them judge and jury. Yech! What's next, get a posse together and patrol the streets... but just take pictures of the bad people? F2B... me .

Great idea!! I have a handicapped family member. Its amazing how people lucky enough to be able to walk without any disability park in handicaped spaces. The excuses are always the same...it will only take a second. Well park legally and it will take a few seconds longer. Photograph the offenders licence plate while they are parked illegally, and let the court decide. Absolutely wonderful idea.
