Election 2012: 10th Assembly District

After incumbent drops out, a new lineup.

When Democrat Joe Dujmic entered the race in February for the 10th Assembly District, he was taking on the powerful Republican incumbent, James D. Conte.

But things changed dramatically in July when announced he wouldn't seek re-election for the seat he'd held since 1988.

The Republicans then selected South Huntington school board member Chad Lupinacci to step in. His team promptly engineered a write-in victory in the Working Families Party primary in September.

The 10th district runs from Lloyd Harbor, through most of Huntington and Huntington Station, Elwood, and down through parts of Melville and into East Farmingdale.
