Dujmic Running in 10th District Assembly Primary

Melville attorney running for Working Families Party ticket Thursday.

Melville Attorney Joseph Dujmic, Jr., a Democrat, is looking to secure the Working Families party ticket in this year's 10th State Assembly District Primary on Thursday. A space for write-in candidates will be available on the ballot.

Dujmic received his law degree from New York Law School and is now a private attorney practicing family law. He previously served as Assistant Suffolk County Attorney in the Family Court Bureau where he specialized in assisting the removal of children from abusive homes, and as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Suffolk County Executive where he monitored state legislation as a part of the Intergovernmental Relations Unit.

His top priorities if elected, according to Vote411.org, will be to 1. Create high paying jobs through the use of innovative economic development ideas which will include a New York State Local Preference Law that will give an advantage to New York based companies when seeking to contract with the state. 2. As a member of the Democratic Majority, to bring resources back to the 10th Assembly District that will help to reduce the tax burden on residents. 3. Make Suffolk County the "Green Jobs" Capital of New York State.

The 10th Assembly District includes the hamlets of Huntington, Huntington Station, South Huntington, Cold Spring Harbor, Lloyd Harbor, Dix Hills, Greenlawn, Melville, and West Hills in the Town of Huntington as well as parts of Farmingdale in the Town of Babylon.
