Change of Command at Coast Guard Eatons Neck

New commanding officer reporting from Detroit.

Coast Guard Station Eatons Neck welcomed new commanding officer Mark Stauffer last month in a change of command ceremony. 

Stauffer, a native of Muskatine, Iowa, reports from Coast Guard Sector Detroit, where he served as the Aids to Navigation Officer. Outgoing Eatons Neck C.O. Steve Pollock, a native of Baltimore, will be reporting to the Coast Guard Cutter Sea Fox, an 87-foot patrol boat homeported in Silverdale, Wash.

Capt. Joe Vojvodich, commander of Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound, was the presiding official over the time-honored ceremony. The Coast Guard Band, out of Stony Brook, played ceremonial music selections for the ceremony.

Station Eatons Neck’s 50-person crew is responsible for search and rescue, maritime law enforcement, and security operations on the western Long Island Sound. The Coast Guard has continuously conducted missions on Eatons Neck since 1798.
