Updated: Woman Airlifted to Stony Brook From Laurel Avenue

A woman lost control of her car on Route 25A injuring herself.

Police say a  75-year-old woman driving a 2005 Nissan Altima lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree on Rt. 25A approximately 200 feet east of Stony Hollow Road. 

Elaine Suthers, of E. Maple Road in Greenlawn, was airlifted to  Stony Brook University Medical Center and treated for leg injuries.  The helicopter landed on the fields at the on Laurel Avenue.
