Tree Crashes into E. Northport Home

High winds splinter tree on Grant Street Monday, taking down power lines and striking house.

High winds from Hurricane Sandy brought down a tree Monday in East Northport, taking down power lines before striking a house, according the emergency responders.

The 100-foot tall tree on Grant Street and Dickenson Ave. splintered and crashed down. Part of the tree landed on a house and also across the entire road. Live wires landed in another tree and started sparking.

No injuries were reported.
