Thief Takes $500 Worth of Heartburn Medicine from Target

Police are seeking help identifying the man.

That's some serious heartburn.

On Saturday, Jan. 22 at about 9 p.m, an unknown white male entered the Target Store on Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack, and allegedly took over $500 worth of Prilosec antacid from the shelf.

He put the packages into an empty tampon container and left the store through the front entrance without paying for the merchandise. The suspect was last seen getting into a large white box truck and fled the parking lot.

Police are seeking the public's help identifying the suspect, who appeared to be about 20 to 30 years old with a heavy build, and a brown goatee. He was wearing a green and white Jets hat, a black zippered hoodie, blue jeans and black boots.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential.
