Suffolk Police Blotter: Forcible Touching, DWIs, Drug Possession and More

A roundup of arrests and incidents from the records of the SCPD.

Suffolk County Police Department’s crime blotter. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. A criminal charge is only an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

arrested a Northport man on Friday, Feb. 4 for driving while intoxicated after he crashed a Toyota into two vehicles and fled the scene while his 14-year-old stepson was in the vehicle.

According to police, John Nullmeyer was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry northbound in a southbound-only portion of Nassau Road near the intersection of Main Street in Huntington at approximately 5 p.m. when he struck a 2006 Mazda. Nullmeyer fled the crash and then struck a 1998 Ford which was travelling westbound on Main Street.

After turning the vehicle around, Nullmeyer fled eastbound on Main Street. Drivers of the two struck vehicles flagged down second precinct patrol officers who were able to apprehend and arrest Nullmeyer at the intersection of Main Street and Spring Road. There were no injuries in either of the crashes.

Second Squad detectives charged Nullmeyer, 43, of Main Street, Northport, with two counts of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the Car, a felony under Leandra’s Law.

Nullmeyer is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip Saturday.

The following arrests were made from Jan. 16-28.

  • Steven Duggan, of Northport, was arrested in Northport on Jan. 22 and charged with grand larceny in the third degree for stealing cash and merchandise valued at more than $3.000 from on Ft. Salonga Road in Northport.
  • Santino Fufidio, of Northport, was arrested in Northport on Jan. 16 and charged with stalking in the fourth degree.
  • Carlos Cruz, of East Farmingdale, was arrested in East Northport on Jan. 27 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle for driving with a suspended license.
  • Ryan Luechau, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on Jan. 27 for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree for possessing prescription drugs.
  • Zhong Chen, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on Jan. 26 and charged with forcible touching.
  • Victor Smith, of Central Islip, was arrested in East Northport on Jan. 25 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Alexandra Weisbroat, of Northport, was arrested in East Northport on Jan. 24 and charged with DWI while driving with a child in the car.
  • Michael Lauth, of East Northport, was arrested in Huntington on Jan. 24 and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree for carrying a firearm.

The following incidents were reported to the Suffolk County Police Department from Jan. 17-28.

  • Someone damaged a 1998 Chevrolet on Main Street sometime during Jan. 27.
  • An Asharoken Avenue resident reported receiving threatening texts on Jan. 20.
  • A Lebkamp Avenue resident in Elwood reported an incident of criminal mischief to his property on Jan. 28.
  • On Jan. 25 a 4th Avenue resident in East Northport reported receiving harassing phone calls on Jan. 13.
  • Someone broke into a vehicle parked at on Jericho Turnpike on Jan. 25 and stole a GPS and iPod.
  • A Vernon Valley Road resident in East Northport reported damage to her property on Jan. 22.
  • On Jan. 22, an East Northport woman reported that someone stole cash from her business on Ft. Salonga Road.
  • Someone broke through the back door of Prime Time Deli on Laurel Avenue in East Northport sometime on Jan. 19 and removed cash.
  • An East Northport resident reported that someone stole cash and a credit card from his Norma Street home on Jan. 18.
  • On Jan. 17 a 9th Avenue resident in East Northport reported that someone caused damage to his property sometime on Jan. 15.
