Suffolk County Police Report: Slashed Tires; Fort Salonga Burglary

The following arrests were made and incidents reported by Suffolk County police officers between Aug. 10-15.

The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's crime blotter. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. A criminal charge is only an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The following arrests were made between Aug 11-15.

Arrests:

  • Donald Steck, 51, of Northport, was arrested in Northport on Aug. 14 and charged with third degree burglary: illegal entry with intent.
  • Virginio Ortiz, 22, of the Bronx, was arrested in Northport on Aug. 12 and charged with petty larceny.
  • Franklin Waring, 38, of Coram, was arrested in East Northport on Aug. 15 and charged with falsely reporting an incident.
  • Kevin O’Brien, Jr. 24, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on Aug. 14 and charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property.
  • Eunice Sipley, 42, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on Aug. 11 and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
  • Sandra Rupolo, 41, of East Northport, was arrested in Greenlawn on Aug. 11 and charged with DWI. First offense.

The following incidents were reported to the Suffolk County Police Department between Aug. 10-15:

  • On Aug. 13, a Goodwin Place resident in Fort Salonga reported that someone keyed the side of her 2011 Jeep Wrangler while it was parked in front of her home.
  • On Aug. 13, an East Northport Road resident in Fort Salonga reported that someone broke the driver’s side window and windshield of his 1993 Lincoln Town Car while it was parked in front of his home.
  • On Aug. 12, someone pried open the sliding doors at a Sound Road residence in Fort Salonga and stole jewelry, a digital camera, and an Amazon Kindle.
  • On Aug. 11 a woman reported that someone stole her pocketbook from her 2010 Honda Civic while it was parked in the parking lot on Fort Salonga Road in Fort Salonga.
  • On Aug. 15, all four tires on a 2004 Dodge Intrepid were slashed while it was parked in front of a residence on Metcale Lane in East Northport.
  • On Aug. 14, an Arcy Drive resident in East Northport reported an altercation in which he was struck in the head by a known male, causing a cut and swelling.
  • On Aug. 13, a Park Avenue resident in Elwood reported that she had received harassing voicemail messages from another woman.
  • On Aug. 11, a Jan Place resident in Elwood reported that her mailbox had been smashed.
  • On Aug. 10, someone slashed a tire on a 2007 Mazda while it was parked at Verizon Wireless on Larkfield Road in Elwood.
