Suffolk County Police Blotter: Unneighborly Behavior, On-the-Job Dispute

The following arrests were made and incidents reported by Suffolk County police officers between July 7-13.

The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's crime blotter. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. A criminal charge is only an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The following arrests were made between July 7-13.

Arrests:

  • Catherine Dolan, 55, of Northport, was arrested in Northport on July 13 and charged with DWAI combined drugs/alcohol.
  • Malik Awan, 35, of Elwood, was arrested in Elwood on July 10 and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
  • Emily Laurie, 19, of Huntington, was arrested in Elwood on July 9 and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs in the first degree.
  • Richard Budd,19, of Northport, was arrested in East Northport on July 9 and charged with burglary in the third degree: illegal entry with intent.
  • Joseph Papik, 23, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on July 9 and charged with menacing with a weapon in the second degree.
  • Alan Becker, 21, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on July 8 and charged with harassment in the second degree: physical contact.
  • Gregory Russo, 44, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on July 7 and charged with assault in the third degree with intent to cause physical injury.

The following incidents were reported to the Suffolk County Police Department between July 7-13:

  • On July 12, a North Old Orchard Road resident in Eaton’s Neck reported that someone damaged a rear screen window of her home.
  • On July 10, a resident of Beverly Court in Elwood reported that someone smashed his mailbox.
  • On July 10, another Beverly Court resident in Elwood reported that someone damaged a number sign on her lawn.
  • On July 9, a Butler Place resident in Fort Salonga reported that someone broke the rear window of his 1999 Hyundai Sonata while it was parked on the street in front of his home.
  • On July 13, police were called to a business on Jericho Turnpike in Elwood to break up a dispute on the job between two people in which a man slapped a woman in the face.

  • On July 11, a 5th Avenue resident in East Northport reported receiving harassing phone calls by a known female.
  • On July 11, an Athens Court resident in East Northport reported that someone damaged the outside screen windows of his residence.
  • On July 10, a Harmon Drive resident in Elwood reported that someone smashed her mailbox.
  • On July 9, a Soundview Avenue resident in East Northport reported that she had received  a threatening phone call from two unknown persons.
  • On July 9, a Timber Ridge Drive resident in Elwood reported that someone broke into his car and removed a computer, GPS, iPod, camera and sunglasses.
  • On July 9, police were called to a Lebkamp Avenue residence in Elwood to break up a dispute between two neighbors in which one woman struck the other woman in the face.
  • On July 8, someone broke into a trailer parked in the yard of Lone Oak Arborists Service in East Northport and removed four chain saws.
  • On July 7, a Franconia Road resident in East Northport reported that someone damaged her mailbox.
  • On July 7, someone cracked the front store window of on Fort Salonga Road in East Northport.
