Suffolk County Police Blotter: Elwood Mailboxes Targeted, Car and Boat Damage, and More
The following arrests were made and incidents reported by Suffolk County police officers between May 5-14.
The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's crime blotter. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. A criminal charge is only an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The following arrests were made between May 8-13.
Arrests:
- Brian Dunleavy, 44, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on May 12 and charged with criminal contempt in the second degree for violating a court order of protection. On May 11, he was arrested in East Northport and charged with menacing with a knife, and leaving the scene of an accident which caused property damage.
- Joseph O’Connor, 20, of Northport, was arrested in East Northport on May 8 and charged with DWI. First offense.
- Abel Aguirre, 46, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on May 8 and charged with harassment in the second degree: physical contact and menacing in the third degree.
The following incidents were reported to the Suffolk County Police Department between May 5-14:

- On May 7, a Coles Place resident in Fort Salonga reported that someone keyed her 2010 Nissan Frontier while it was parked at her home.
- On May 7, a Crestwood Drive resident in Fort Salonga reported receiving harassing phone calls concerning business statements.
- Police responded to a report of an altercation between two men at the on Waterside Avenue in Northport on May 14.
- On May 13, an 8th Avenue resident in East Northport reported that someone entered through a second story window and removed jewelry and electronics.
- On May 13, a Valentine Avenue resident in Elwood reported that someone entered through a window in the rear of the home and removed jewelry and electronics.
- On May 11, a Tamarack Street resident in East Northport accused a man of damaging the front door of her home.
- A Warner Court resident in Elwood reported on May 10 that someone damaged her mailbox.
- On May 8, a Godfrey Lane resident in Elwood reported that someone damaged his mailbox.
- Police were called to the restaurant on Jericho Turnpike in East Northport on May 7 to break up a fight between two employees.
- On May 6, a Stoothoff Road resident in East Northport reported that someone damaged the passenger door and rear window of his 1999 Honda.
- On May 5, a Barnett Place resident in East Northport reported that someone damaged a 2007 PT Cruiser as well as a gate on her property.
