Suffolk County Police Blotter: Damage to Vehicles at Train Station, Criminal Mischief and More

A roundup of incidents and arrests reported by Suffolk County police officers between Dec. 28 and Jan. 11.

The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's crime blotter. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. A criminal charge is only an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following arrests were made between Dec. 28-Jan 9:

  • A 32-year-old West Islip man was arrested in East Northport on Jan. 9 and charged with resisting arrest when he blocked a doorway on Larkfield Road and refused to let police officers into the building.
  • A 25-year-old Northport man was arrested in Commack on Jan. 7 and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. First offense.
  • A 56-year-old East Northport man was arrested in Commack on Jan. 6 and charged with stealing hardware from Home Depot.
  • A 55-year-old Northport man was arrested in Northport on Dec. 29 and charged with harassment in the second degree for grabbing and pushing another person.
  • A 63-year-old Dix Hills man was arrested in East Northport on Jan. 1 and charged with DWI. First offense.
  • A 50-year-old man from East Northport was arrested in East Northport on Jan. 1 and charged with lewdness with intent to be seen.
  • A 19-year-old Northport man was arrested in Sound Beach on Jan. 1 and charged with aggravated harassment in the second degree for sending threatening text messages.
  • An 18-year-old Fort Salonga woman was arrested in Lake Grove on Dec. 28 and charged with petit larcency for taking merchandise from Macy’s in the Smith Haven Mall.
  • A 20-year old East Northport man was arrested in Commack on Jan. 1 and charged with DWI. First offense.
  • A 17-year-old East Northport woman was arrested in Lake Grove on Dec. 30 and charged with petit larceny for taking merchandise from JC Penny and Macy’s in the Smithhaven Mall.

The following incidents were reported to the Suffolk County Police Department between Dec. 28 and Jan. 11:

  • Someone broke the front glass door of Fashions & Flowers on Ft. Salonga Road in Northport and stole a cash register containing money sometime on Jan. 9.
  • On Jan. 11, a man reported that jewelry was stolen from his residence on Lorijean Road in Elwood. The value of the stolen property was approximately $500.
  • An Elwood resident reported that jewelry was stolen from her Manor Road home sometime on Jan. 11.
  • A Laurel Hill Road resident in East Northport reported receiving harassing text messages on Jan. 7.
  • A man reported on Jan. 8 that someone broke the driver’s and passenger’s side mirrors on his 2000 and 1996 BMWs while they were parked on Broadway in Elwood.
  • A Middleville Road resident in East Northport reported that someone stole his wife’s pocketbook from a 2010 Subaru Outback while it was parked at the Meadowlark Park Mountain Bike Trail on Middleville Road in East Northport.
  • On Jan. 5 a 5th  Ave resident in East Northport reported receiving threatening phone calls by a known male.
  • On Jan. 4 a Vernon Valley Road resident in Northport reported that someone had stolen and used her credit card.
  • On Jan. 4 a Casey Lane resident in East Northport reported that someone entered through a basement window and stole jewelry and electronic equipment..
  • On Jan. 3, someone damaged a BMW while it was parked at the on Bellerose Avenue in East Northport.
  • On Jan. 1 a man reported that someone damaged his Honda Accord while it was parked at his Kimberly Drive residence in East Northport..
  • Someone stole construction equipment on Dec. 27 from a business on Jericho Turnpike in Elwood.
  • On Dec. 27, a woman reported that someone removed electronic equipment and a wallet containing cash from her Vernon Valley Road home in East Northport sometime after Christmas.
