Police Bust Cocaine Sale in Northport

Police said a drug dealer was caught during a sale in a CVS parking lot.

Northport Police say that they caught a drug dealer in the act last week while observing a cocaine sale in a CVS parking lot.

After recieving intelligence from a previous arrest, police observed Matthew Higgins, of Mineola, operating a 2008 BMW as he pulled into a parking lot at CVS Jan. 22 around 10:30 p.m. to meet a buyer.

Upon observance of the sale, officers approached the vehicle and took those involved into custody, police said. In their search, police uncovered the cocaine, as well as a small quantity of marijuana and a packet of Suboxone in his wallet.

Higgins was arrested and charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance.
