Northport Police Report: Driving without an Interlock, Horses in the Park

Arrests and incidents, July 11-16.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Northport Police Department between July 11 and 16.

A 30-year-old East Northport man was arrested on Woodbine Avenue July 16 and charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed driving, driving without a court-mandated interlock device, failure to stop at a stop sign, and having expired insurance.

A person had their rear car window shattered on Beach Avenue on the night of July 11.

A downed power line on Fort Salonga Road July 14 caused multiple traffic lights to go out around Northport. Police deployed traffic control devices at Reservoir and Scudder Avenues, and Main and Church Streets until the condition was corrected by LIPA. Police primary radios were also affected by the outage and the department had to switch to the new 800 radio system.

Someone reported horses being ridden in the park on Beach Avenue July 15. The horses were gone when police arrived.
