Northport Police Report: Xanax Zombie; Nor'Easter Damage

A man is found wandering incoherently with arms outstretched, high winds result in rogue boats and downed trees, Halloween pranksters are at it again, and more arrests and incidents from the past week.

Xanax Zombie

John Hendrickson, 39, of Seaview Terrace, was given an appearance ticket for being in public under the influence of narcotics on Monday afternoon, after he was observed staggering through his neighbors' yards with a fixed upward gaze and fully outstretched arms. Hendrickson was taken to Huntington Hospital were it was determined that he took 17 Xanax pills.

Twelve boats broke loose from their moorings during the the , many sustaining extensive damage in the high winds and causing property damage to other boats and private docks. Trees and wires were also downed on Norwood Avenue and Tracy Court.

Halloween Mischief

A Norwood Avenue man reported a group of "obnoxious trick-or-treaters" who rang his door bell on on Friday, saying they were getting "an early start."

Halloween mischief turned malicious when someone smashed the windshield on a 2011 Mitsubishi on Terry Road.

Police never found the people who egged homes on Rutledge Avenue, Clipper Drive, or Burr Avenue on Halloween, though a group of children with shaving cream at the Village Park gazebo were dispersed without incident.

A woman on Locust Road called the police after an unknown male called her and said, "I am your worst nightmare" before hanging up.

Hung Up on a Jacket

A drunk man accused the police of stealing his jacket "like a thief" after he left it hanging on a Main Street parking meter at 4:50 a.m. Saturday. When police denied the accusation and offered to take his information in case the jacket was returned to the police station, the man refused and left.
