Northport Police Report: Second Degree Harassment; Rogue Goat

A man is arrested after an altercation with his parents gets out of control, a rogue goat is found roaming the neighborhood outside Lewis-Oliver Farm, a trigger-happy unknown shoots up windows with a BB-gun, and more around Northport this past week.

Criminal Mischief: A trigger-happy individual apparently went on an overnight BB-gun shooting spree on Aug. 30, damaging car windows and sliding doors around town. Property damage was reported on Jay Court, Ocean Ave., Church Street, and Waterside Ave.

Hit and Run: Brittany Carlson, 22, of East Northport was arrested on Thursday after leaving the scene of an accident at an unspecified location in Northport.

Harassment: Michael Madsen, 40, of Northport was arrested and charged with second degree harassment on Friday after an altercation with his parents.

Marijuana Possession: Sean Lynn, 22, of West Gilgo Beach was issued an appearance ticket in lieu of arrest for unlawful possession of marijuana on Friday.

Topsy-Turvy Derby: Police responded to the first annual Northport Soapbox Derby on Valley Ave. Sunday after a racer crashed and flipped his cart when trying to avoid another participant. The boy injured his face and nose but was aided by his parent and doctor who were already at the scene.

Petty Larceny: On. Sept. 4, a woman reported that someone smashed her car window while it was parked and unattended on Harbour Point Drive and took her GPS, iPod, hair styling tools, and Christian Dior sunglasses.

Rogue Goat: A goat was found roaming the neighborhood after it escaped from on Monday morning and was apprehended and returned to its pen before police arrived.
