Suffolk Police swarm Northport Village in intense manhunt for armed suspect.

A man in his 50s armed with a handgun robbed in Northport at approximately 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, Suffolk County Police said.

Police were seen canvassing Northport in cruisers and through the air after the Chase branch at 721 Fort Salonga Road was held up. Northport and Suffolk police personnel had a section of the CVS Plaza cordoned off while they investigated.

The armed man approached a teller and demanded cash, police said. The teller complied and the subject fled the scene on foot southbound through the parking lot.
