Man Arrested for Threatening Town Employee

Robert Murphy was arrested and charged with a class D felony after he allegedly yelled at an employee at town hall.

Suffolk County Police on Saturday arrested a man for making threats over a parking ticket.

According to police, Robert Murphy was at Huntington Town Hall on Main Street on Wednesday when he yelled at and threatened a female town employee.

Following an investigation, a .45-cal. rifle was removed from his home on Hazard Avenue in Huntington Station. Murphy, 55, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation and released.

Upon release, Second Squad detectives charged Murphy with making a terroristic threat, a class D felony. He will be held overnight at the Second Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.

This is a joke, right? This nutcase goes to town hall to argue over a ticket, yells and screams leaving and while on the way to his car, threatens to come back and shoot not only town employees, but himself. That is MOST DEFINITELY a reason to be arrested. But not only that, since he threatened to shoot, it's a case to search and find/seize any weapons he may have.

Me thinks that Sullivan is a bit oxygen-deprived; it could explain the hallucinatory analysis he/she has provided. Guv'mint = BAD Crazy people = GOOD

You know, Nprtr, you sound like someone who doesn't know which end is up, and which is down. Seriously, pal, cut out the Obama-bashing horse**** and stick to the topic. The subsequent news reports now make it clear just what a sicko this guy was, and his arrest was fortu ate for the safety of public employees, and his neighbors, and himself too. That's the topic.

Aw, Allie's grandpa... You missed the point. Patch doesn't DO followups to their stories, instead leaving them without necessary facts to accurately understand what happened. I was simply stating that if you need facts from Patch, don't hold your breath. If you got your shorts twisted about the Obama comment, so be it. It was an "analogy".
