Northporter Pleads Guilty in Hit and Run

John Pappias to be sentenced in December, faces separate DWI charges.

John Pappias, the Northport man arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run last October, has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident with injury with prior.

According to court documents, Pappias made the initial guilty plea on Oct. 17 and is scheduled for final sentencing on Dec. 5 in Suffolk County 10th District Criminal Court. His attorney did not return requests for comment.

Pappias was arrested on Jan. 14 after police linked his Chevy Tahoe pickup truck to debris at the scene of a Oct. 28 hit and run on Fort Salonga Road that killed construction worker Victor Schultz of Massapequa Park.
