Man Accused of Boating While Intoxicated

East Northport man arrested near Ocean Bay Park.

Suffolk County police arrested an East Northport man Saturday night on chargs of boating while intoxicated.

Police Officers Neil Stringer and Rich Manger of the Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau were on patrol near the Ocean Bay Park Ferry Terminal in Ocean Bay Park when they spotted a 1976 Sea Ray that was running without navigation lights. The officers stopped the vessel and determined that the boat operator, Michael Albinski, appeared to be intoxicated.

The officers took Albinski to shore where he was placed under arrest by Highway Patrol Safe-T Team Officer Kevin Wustenhoff.  Albinski, 27, of 505 Third Ave., East Northport, was charged with boating while intoxicated and operating a vessel after sunset without navigation lights.

Albinski will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
