Suffolk police to show residents how to design their property to keep the bad guys at bay.
That large bush that gives you privacy in your backyard also can shield a burglar looking to break into a home. The landscaping of a yard can make it difficult for a homeowner or a police officer to spot troublemakers.
Suffolk Police Officer Wendy Verlotte of the Community Response Bureau will offer tips for preventing crime through environmental design, Wednesday morning, 10 a.m. at the Second Precinct stationhouse at 1071 Park Ave., Huntington.
