Driver Injured when Car Struck Dix Hills Utility Pole

The incident occurred Saturday, officials said.

A driver was injured in a Dix Hills crash that occurred Saturday evening, authorities said.

Dix Hills Fire Department volunteers responded to the report of the crash, which occurred at Carlls Straight Path and the North Service Road at about 6:30 p.m. 

The driver of a Nissan Altima suffered non-life threatening injuries after the car struck a utility pole. The patient was assisted by Dix Hills Rescue Squad personnel and transported to Huntington Hospital, authorities said.

An ambulance, heavy rescue truck, first responder and paramedic units were on the scene, under the direction of Third Assistant Chief Alan Berkowitz.
