A Kings Park boy who attended Northport and Fort Salonga schools has lost a long battle with Leukemia.
Matthew Russo, 7, passed away on Jan. 3 in his home with the company of family and friends. He was born with Down Syndrome and diagnosed with the acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age 2, according to Newsday.
Russo attended Northport Nursery School and Fort Salonga Elementary School. He is survived by his parents Phil and Audra Russo, his sister, Jade, and brother, Nicholas, as well as his grandparents Guy and Carol Russo of East Northport and Ira and Marcia Cohen of Florida.
He was buried in Commack Cemetery.
