Ilana Lambertus, 24, of East Northport was killed on Thursday after her car hit a tree off the Northern State Parkway.
Lambertus was traveling westbound near Wolf Hill Road in Huntington on Aug. 2 at 11:19 am when she veered off the road and entered the shoulder, said New York State Police. She then re-entered the road and struck a Honda Accord before losing control of her car and crashing into a tree on the shoulder.
She was pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital. The driver and passengers of the Honda Accord were treated for minor injuries.
Lambertus was a 2007 graduate of . She is the beloved daughter of Kay and the late Andrew Lambertus, who died last January at age 54. She is the loving sister of Keri Lambertus, cherished aunt of Rowan, dear granddaughter of Jeanne Schwicke, and loving girlfriend of Nick Bompane.
Visiting will be held at the in East Northport on Monday, Aug. 6, from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Lambertus will be buried at .
