Panel to Discuss Drug Prevention in Northport-East Northport

The Northport East Northport Drug and Alcohol Task Force will be hosting a "Town Hall" meeting to address the growing drug abuse epidemic (especially by our kids!) in our area.

NORTHPORT EAST NORTHPORT DRUG AND ALCOHOL TASK FORCE TO HOST A TOWN HALL MEETING TO ADDRESS THE GROWING DRUG ABUSE EPIDEMIC IN OUR AREA.

“LETS DRUG PROOF OUR COMMUNITY”

When real life statistics indicate that more than 1 out of 2 high school teens are
taking drugs and plan to continue, a “call to arms” for the community should be
in order. Reports of overdose emergency calls are frequently in the news, too many with fatal results. Some are being saved by Narcan Procedures administered by first responders. The Task Force has a mission and plan that will be shared
with the community at large, and as community we can all make a difference!

The Northport East Northport Drug and Alcohol Task Force mission is simply this; A community committed to educate and protect our children from drug and alcohol abuse. There are many ways that “we” as a community can accomplish this goal. Having a Town Hall Meeting with all community members invited is a great way to start! Information will be given about on-going workshops for parents and community members who wish to learn about what they can do to make a difference, and how to address a multitude of situations.

Meeting Agenda:
Items covered will be pertinent regional statistics, facts, and on-going family
workshop programs designed to offer the resources and information for those in
need, or who just want to learn. A panel of speakers will present some eye
opening facts and usable information which can be taken away and will include a
question and answer forum. Please feel free to send questions in advance to our
Facebook page, and or by e-mail at dataskforce@yahoo.com. At your request these can be confidential. The last part of the meeting will include a short NARCAN
Training hands on workshop (optional) which will qualify you as an administer
of this procedure. It is easy to learn this and you will be given a kit.
