Christmas Tree and Menorah Lightings Around Northport

The Village tree lighting will take place Nov. 29 in Village Park.

The holiday season in Northport will be marked by upcoming tree and menorah lightings in town.

Here's a look at the holiday celebration schedule:

Northport Village Tree Lighting
The annual Northport Village Christmas Tree Lighting, presented with the Northport Chamber of Commerce, will take place Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. in Village Park. See live reindeer from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., courtesy of the Window Shop Jewelers. Santa and his helpers will arrive by firetruck with the help of the Northport Fire Department and the Northport Chorale and DJ Tommy Bruno will be providing music to get in the Christmas cheer. Hot chocolate and cookies will be given out courtesy of Copenhagen Bakery, Tim's Shipwreck Diner and Northport Feed and Grain.

Northport Village Leg Lighting
A Northport tradition, the annual leg lamp lighting, a nod to "A Christmas Story," will take place Nov. 30 at Northport Hardware Store (90 Main St.) at 7 p.m.

East Northport Christmas Tree Lighting
The East Northport Chamber of Commerce will hold a Christmas tree lighting at the East Northport Train Station Dec. 2 at 6 p.m.  The annual tradition includes caroling, holiday treats and a visit from Santa aboard an East Northport Fire Department truck.

Menorah Lighting
Northport Village will put up a menorah at the foot of Main Street on the first night of Hanukkah Nov. 27 at 6:35 p.m. On Dec. 2, the East Northport Jewish Center will hold a group lighting at 6:45, with children and clergy of the East Northport Jewish Center. The temple's rabbi and cantor will provide blessings and songs to celebrate the Festival of Lights. Chocolate gelt will be handed out to attendees.
