PHOTOS: Northport VA Honors Veterans in Construction of "Wall of Wars"
A dozen monuments will honor veterans from every war in U.S. history.
The Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center honored veterans Friday with the introduction of the Walls of Wars monument, which will pay tribute to service men and women of every war in American history.
The Wall of Wars will feature 12 granite monuments, each depicting a period of war in America’s history: the American revolution, War of 1812, Indian Wars, The Mexican War, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Global War on Terror.
The new monument is the final stage of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Garden project, which began in 2009.
