Took my 4 year old daughter to pick apples. We arrived at noon on a sunday. I had called ahead to learn the "picking hours" were 10 am - 2pm. As we drove up, we saw a sign that said "no more picking today". When I got out and asked why their' phone message said they were open til' 2 but now they are closed at 12, the white-haired, socially inept "hostess" said they needed to let the orchards clear out a bit and I should return in an hour, but there were no guarantees. I explained that I had already driven over an hour to get there and that my 4 year old will be so disappointed. After parking, I returned to ask why people were being allowed in and cars were driving in the previously blocked entrance. Another woman claimed I was "yelling" at her and she walked away, leaving me to talk to a boy who was maybe 13 or 14 years old. I then dealt with his rudeness, and decided these people had no respect for customers like myself who was actually just trying to give them my business and support their farm. I have never been spoken to so rudely in my life by anyone, let alone someone who needs customers to make their living. These people are disgusting and I see that my experience with their nastiness is not the only one on this site. Take the extra hour or two to go further east or upstate to pick apples. Leave these a-holes to pick 'em all themselves!
