L.I. Composers: Winter Solstice Concert at Vanderbilt

The Long Island Composers Alliance (LICA) will present Iktus Percussion in Winter Solstice Celebration  on Sunday, December 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the William and Mollie Rogers Theater at the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum’s Charles and Helen Reichert Planetarium.

Throughout history, cultures have attached great significance to the Winter Solstice – from the rebirth of sun gods to life-death-rebirth rituals. Come celebrate with LICA, Iktus and other performers in a high-spirited concert accompanied by intriguing imagery – celestial, mythical, mystical – projected onto the 60-foot Planetarium dome.

Tickets: $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (62 plus) and students with ID, $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the door or make reservations by calling the Vanderbilt at 631-854-5579.
