Open Mic Fundraiser to Benefit Hurricane Victims

Fado restaurant in Huntington Village will host an open-mic fund-raising evening on Sunday, November 25, to help Long Island victims of Hurricane Sandy. The event, 7:30–10:30 p.m., will be presented by Linda Ray of Huntington Cabaret. Fado is located at 10 New Street, Huntington Village.


“This will be a fun night whether you are a singer or just want to have a great time listening and helping others,” Ray said. “Please join us to help Long Islanders who are in great need following Sandy’s devastation.”


There will be raffle baskets for "Best of New York City” and “Best of Long Island.” The baskets include restaurant, museum and theatre tickets; jewelry; and a gift certificate from a prominent hair salon.


Seating is limited. Admission: $20 cover charge and one drink minimum (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Darius Frowner is a Bistro Award-winning New York City cabaret musical director and pianist who has played in major New York City venues such as The Duplex, The Metropolitan Room, The New York Hilton, Sardi's and The Rainbow Room. Darius has been a featured pianist at The Duplex, NYC's renowned piano bar, for 20 years. He frequently collaborates with prominent Broadway performers and was musical director and pianist for Norm Lewis (currently starring on Broadway in "Porgy and Bess") at The Kennedy Center.


Linda Ray has directed numerous sold-out cabaret shows in major New York City clubs and in restaurants and other venues in the New York metropolitan area.
