The Dollar-A-Day Boys:
A Documentary Portrait of the Civilian Conservation Corps

In the decade of economic and personal struggle known as The Great Depression, one hugely successful government program stands out. Established as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) put millions of unemployed young men to work on conservation projects across the country.
Professor, author, and filmmaker Dr. Anthony DiFranco has created a fascinating 30-minute documentary in recognition of the 80th anniversary of the CCC, and as a tribute to his father who was a member of the Corps. The blend of interviews and archival footage tells of a time in our history that was special and beautiful in its own way. No registration required.
