What comes to mind when someone says accordion? Oktoberfest? Lawrence Welk? The polka? The accordion
was at its height of popularity following World War II, but later became marginalized by Hollywood stereotyping
and the electric guitar. Today the accordion is enjoying a resurgence among musicians, accordion enthusiasts,
and young people. Join musician John Custie as he demonstrates both traditional and digital accordions, and explores the history and capabilities of this versatile instrument. No registration required. Those showing an NENPL Library card will be seated first.
