The top five new year's resolutions are to lose weight, get organized, spend more time with friends and family, spend less and save more, and live life to it's fullest. All great ideas, but better with a good plan in place so you can give yourself a pat on the back in 2013 when you've lost a spare tire or gained a bigger bank account.
The best way to achieve our often lofty expectations is to bring them back down to earth: set small attainable goals, be real with yourself, and don't make things so stressful that you give up. In this case, steady wins the race, but don't be afraid to take a risk when your gut tells you you're ready.
What are your resolutions for 2012? What were they last year? Did you stick to them? If you did, what strategy did you use?
