: Ilana Lambertus, 24, of East Northport was killed on Thursday after her car hit a tree off the Northern State Parkway.

: Eddie Wawrzonek and Chris Hallal of the team took first place in the 10th Annual Pizza-Eating Contest on Sunday.

: The Suffolk County Legislature approved a resolution to add Sand Piper Farm to the agricultural district on Tuesday evening, which will allow the farm to resume its operations as a horse farm and training facility.

: has been reopened to swimming by the Suffolk County Department of Health. The beach was closed on Aug. 6 after test samples showed unsafe levels of bacteria and has been closed multiple times this season.

: Someone has been snatching up manhole covers throughout the Town of Huntington. Twenty cast-steel covers, each between 60 and 75 pounds, have gone missing over the past three weeks throughout the Town. Two have been removed in East Northport at Stony Hollow Road and at Cedar Road and Caton.
