VIDEO: Pearl Harbor Day Parade

Pearl Harbor survivors and veterans marched down Main Street on Sunday.

Pearl Harbor survivor Frank Minnock accompanied WWII and Korean War vets in a white convertible at the annual American Legion Post #694 parade on Sunday.

The survivors car was followed by Legion members, the Northport Pipe and Drum Band, veterans groups, police, Boy Scouts, Naval Sea Cadets, dignitaries and politicians who all made their way from a memorial service at St. Paul's Church down to the WWII Memorial at for a wreath laying ceremony led by Past Commander Jim Mahoney.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the attack of the Army and Navy base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, led by the Imperial Japanese Navy during WWII. More than 2000 American citizens were killed and more than 1000 were injured. The Americans also lost a large proportion of their battle ships and nearly 200 aircraft. More than 60 Japanese servicemen were killed, injured or captured. The Japanese Navy also lost five midget submarines and 29 aircraft.
