Tuesday, Jan. 18: Garbage Pickup, Back to School and More

After a snow day and a long weekend, it's time to head back to school and work and other activities. 

1.  Be careful driving and leave extra time, as there may be visibility issues due to piled up snow as shown in attached photo. We may also be hit with flurries later today. Check Northport Patch for traffic updates. 
2. The Minstrel Players are holding auditions tonight to find an actress to play Maggie in its production of "Lend Me a Tenor." See more info here.
3. The Northport girls and boys basketball teams will both face Central Islip today. Fresh off their defeate of Whitman, the boys will play at home. See info here. The girls will travel to CI. See info here. 
4. The Northport girls and boys bowling teams will both play today, as well. The girls will play Islip at Larkfield Lanes at 4 p.m. See info here. The boys will travel to Commack Lanes to face Hauppauge. See info here.
5. Asharoken's trash pickup will be today instead of yesterday, due to the holiday. See more info here.  All trash pickup in the Town of Huntington will be pushed back one day. See more info here.
