Tell Us: 26 Acts of Kindness

Sandy Hook shooting sparks pay it forward campaign by year's end.

In response to the Sandy Hook Elementary school shootings, Journalist Ann Curry originated a campaign to perform 26 acts of kindness in memory of each of the people killed.

The campaign quickly went viral after she promoted it on Twitter and elicited responses from all over the world. Curry's campaign was based on her reaction to the horror's seen when she was reporting from war-ravaged Darfur in 2007, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Many people have become highly creative in their random acts of kindness: paying the toll for a car behind them, giving gifts to Santa, leaving flower bouquets on doors, and visiting people at nursing homes.
