Street Closures Around St. Anthony's High School

The first will be held on Sunday beginning and ending at St. Anthony's High school. Portions of Wolf Hill Road, Piggeon Hill Road, Windham Drive, Stafford Drive, Teed Street, Smith Lane, Long Street, Poster PLace, Luyster Street, Lowick Place, Coe Place, and Candy Lane will be closed for periods of time beginning around 2:30 p.m.

Suit Alleges Anti-Semitic Harassment at Northport High School:

Parents of a Northport High School student filed a lawsuit against the school earlier this week alleging that officials did not do enough to stop anti-Semitic bullying against their son after it was reported.

On Tuesday evening, the Northport BOE officially retained attorney Adam Kleinberg, of Sokoloff Stern to defend Superintendent Marylou McDermott and Northport High School Principal Irene McLaughlin in a civil action suit filed by Manhattan attorney Chaim Book on behalf of East Northport parent Robert Slade and his son.

The complaint alleges "severe, persistent, and violent harassment" that the former ninth grader endured between November 2010 and June 2011, consisting of "some of the most hate-filled, anti-Semitic slurs imaginable." Read the full story .

Gatsby Party Celebrates North Shore History

Art League of LI Continues 45-Year-Old Craft Fair

The Art League of Long Island’s Art in the Park Fine Art and Craft Fair will return to the scenic Heckscher Park in Huntington on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. The event is an Art League tradition that has attracted thousands of art lovers for 45 years. Read more .
