Northport could see some light snowfall late in the day on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Evening snow showers are predicted with a daytime high lingering at about 27 degrees on Friday. Westerly winds are expected at about 5-10 mph. Wind chill values could reach as low as -1 at night.
There is a 50 percent chance of snow showers during the afternoon, with an 80 percent chance of snowfall in the evening.
For Saturday, a high of 29 degrees and the low is 18 degrees is expected. Light snow, mainly before 3 a.m., is possible. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is forecast.
Next week, temperatures are expected to rise into the 50s by this time next week.
