Update: Flood Advisory in Western Suffolk
Batten down the hatches, Northport. National Weather Service calls for flood advisory until 6:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for western Suffolk until 6:30 p.m. Monday.
A line of rainmaking storms rolled through the Northport area at about 5 p.m. The NWS says these storms could produce 1.5 inches of rain per hour.
Earlier Monday, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for Nassau and Suffolk counties. It on Woodbine Avenue, forcing Northport Police to close the road.
